The Opportunity
The Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position, at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2019, subject to final budgetary approval.
The Department of Politics and Public Administration in the Faculty of Arts at Ryerson University located in the City of Toronto, on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat, and the many other Indigenous Nations that previously shared this territory, consists of 27 full-time faculty members, has a strong, diverse, and continually expanding reputation for research and teaching excellence, and community engagement.

The Department is seeking a candidate with expertise in Public Administration, with a strong preference for a specialization in Indigenous governance. The candidate will be able to make a clear and significant contribution to the study of public administration, teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should articulate their potential contribution to the Department’s diverse areas of research and teaching.
The candidate will play an active and continuing role in the delivery of the Department’s undergraduate program in Public Administration and Governance (BA) particularly its collaborative program delivered in partnership with the First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI). It is anticipated that the candidate will also contribute to the Department’s graduate program in Public Policy and Administration (MA) and undergraduate program in Politics and Governance (BA). The candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved with other interdisciplinary graduate programs in the Faculty of Arts and University.
