CAPPA Congratulates Dr. Maria Gintova as Recipient of the 2024 J.E. Hodgetts Award

On behalf of the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA), it is with great pleasure that we announce and extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Maria Gintova for her outstanding achievement in winning the prestigious J.E. Hodgetts Award for 2024.

Dr. Gintova’s article, “Public Service in Canada post‐COVID‐19 pandemic: Transitioning to hybrid work and its implementation challenges”, published in the March 2024 issue of Canadian Public Administration (Volume 67, Issue 1, pages 7-23), has been selected by an independent committee as the finest English article appearing in the 2024 volume of the journal.

The awards committee, comprised of distinguished academics Professor Kathy McNutt (University of Regina), Professor Charles Conteh (Brock University), and Professor Jonathan Paquette (University of Ottawa), under the supervision of the Journal Editor, Dr. Robert Shepherd, has recognized Dr. Gintova’s work as exemplifying the highest standards of scholarship and relevance in public administration research.

In recognition of this achievement, CAPPA, in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC), will organize a national webinar to honor Dr. Gintova’s accomplishment and facilitate a discussion of her findings. This event is scheduled for the Fall, and further details about the webinar and other celebratory activities will be announced in the IPAC and CAPPA on a later date. Until then, we invite all members of the public administration community to join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement.
