If you stay at the residence, you are about a 7 minute walk to where the conference sessions will be held and you are close to coffee/tea, the Student Union Building with lots of food options, the pub, and the bookstore. You are also walking distance to the beach at
Cadboro-Gyro Park.
2. Stay at a Hotel
If you would prefer to stay in a hotel, Victoria is a tourist destination and has an array of accommodation options at every price point. The University of Victoria is located approx. 20 minutes from downtown Victoria. There are not any hotels within walking distance to campus. The bus system runs numerous buses from downtown to the university on a regular basis.
A few suggestions in scenic downtown:
- Hotel Grand Pacific – 463 Belleville Street, 1-800-663-7550, reserve@hotelgrandpacific.com – Facing the Inner Harbour, all rooms have balconies and the pool area is fantastic.
- The Fairmont Empress Hotel – 721 Government Street, 1-866-540-4429 – Across for the Inner Harbour, the Empress has been a celebrated destination since 1908.
- Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour – 728 Humbolt Street, 1-866-306-5451 – Located in the heart of downtown, many rooms have incredible mountain and ocean views

3. Stay in an Airbnb, VRBO, or a Bed and Breakfast
There are numerous options for accommodation if you prefer staying in a room/apt in someone’s home or in a condo/house. We just took a look at both Airbnb and VRBO and there are some lovely places to stay and at good prices. There are also some wonderful bed and breakfasts close to the university.
For more information, check out their websites.
