Kenneth Kernaghan Award for Excellence in Research 2024 – Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration

The Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA) is please to announce that the winner of the 2024 Kenneth Kernaghan Award for Excellence in Research is Professor Martin Goyette, Research Network Chair on Quebec Youth at l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration Publique (ENAP), Montreal Campus.

Martin Goyette is a distinguished professor in the area of youth policy who is known for his commitment to improving youth outcomes. Prior to his current chair, he was Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in the evaluation of public policies for youth and vulnerable populations from 2010 to 2020. Since receiving his Ph.D. in 2006, he has published four books, 49 articles, 26 book chapters, and 88 research reports. He has been principal researcher for 46 grants receiving over $15 million in funding, and he has supervised 10 post-doctoral and 20 doctoral students. He has an exceptional record of academic productivity and influence on the well-being of vulnerable populations.

CAPPA’s Kenneth Kernaghan Award recognizes research productivity, quality, and influence. Kenneth Kernaghan was a distinguished public administration researcher, especially in the area of ethics and values, who taught for many years at Brock University, and served as the Editor of Canadian Public Administration.
