CAPPA is excited to open the call for nominations for the DeCelles award for excellence in teaching Public Administration. This award is aimed at excellent mid- or late-career post-secondary teachers in the field of public administration and recognizes the outstanding skill, accomplishment, innovation, and commitment of an exceptionally creative and effective teacher who is worthy of emulation.
The award honours the memory of Professor Pierre DeCelles, who taught for many years at the École nationale d’administration publique, was recognized for his teaching there, and was ENAP’s Director General.
Nomination
Directors of programs that are members of CAPPA are invited to nominate a faculty member in their program by providing a letter about how the nominee meets the criteria for the award, the nominee’s most recent curriculum vitae, and any other materials that are supportive of the nomination, such as a maximum of three letters of support, and/or student evaluations.
Criteria for the Award
Criteria for the award include quality of the nominee’s own teaching; the diversity of the nominee’s teaching, for example with different types and levels of students; innovation in teaching; and contribution to the overall educational experience in the nominee’s department, faculty, or university. The nominator should apply these criteria taking into account the program(s) with which the nominee is affiliated.
